Hydroxy propyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC) is non-ionic cellulose ether, which are made from natural macromolecular material cellulose through a series of chemical processes.Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) are odorless, tasteless and nontoxic white powders, which can dissolve in cold water and form transparent viscous solution. They are characterized by thickening, adhesion, dispersion, emulsification, film formation, suspension, adsorption, gelling, surface activity, water retention and colloid protection.
